Steps to Use Go Card on Airtrain in Australia

1. At the Airtrain station follow the signs to tap your go card on the dedicated machines.

2. Hold your card to the center of the go card reading screen to tap on or tap off.

3. Once you have tapped your card, you’ll receive one of three messages:

  • A large “white tick, green lights, and a positive sound” means your Go Card tap was accepted.
  • A large white cross with red lights and a negative sound” means your Go card tap was declined.
  • A large white tick with orange lights and an alert tone” means your tap was accepted, but there is something regarding your account that requires attention.

Note: You should check your go card account online or contact Translink on 13 12 30.

4. Your fare will be automatically calculated when you tap on and tap off your go card.

5. You do not need to tap on or off whilst in transit, just at your final destination.
